Arcanists and botanists have had many a heated argument as to whether glitterlings are creatures or golems, but the nature of their existence suggests the possibility of a third as of yet unnamed thing: possessed minerals. When the essence of a creature leaves its body in death, it appears possible that its energy and memories are trapped in the lattice of nearby crystals, bearing forth a new form. Whether that is a good thing depends largely on the mind of the expired creature in question.
